Off-Duty LAPD Officer Arrested for False Imprisonment & Assault With Deadly Weapon

Conan Daily reported in May 2021 on an ongoing criminal case involving an LAPD officer. We will update as developments occur:

Los Angeles Police Department officer Nicolas Enmanuel Quintanilla-Borja, 29, of Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California, United States as been arrested. He was charged with one count each of false imprisonment by violence and assault with a semiautomatic firearm and two counts of criminal threats.

Quintanilla-Borja was off-duty when he returned home on May 7, 2021. That day, he allegedly threatened to kill his cousin, 37, who had barricaded himself in a room, before going out and making similar threats to a man, 64, a tenant who also lived on the property.

The off-duty LAPD cop allegedly pointed a gun at the elderly man. The latter was able to get away from the suspect and called 911.

At around 5:50 a.m. on May 8, 2021, Inglewood Police Department officers arrested Quintanilla-Borja at the residence. He was allegedly intoxicated during the arrest.

“Wearing a badge does not give an officer the right to break laws,” Los Angeles County district attorney George Gascón, 67, said. “Police officers will be held accountable for their actions just like anyone else.”
